Foreclosure Series

The Face of Foreclosure

I wanted to start Week 1 of the Foreclosure Series with what most folks don't talk about--what is actually happening out there in the lives of folks who are going through this.  In our own backyard, for the month of March, there are 210 homes up for Sheriff Sale.  133 of those homes are in Lower Bucks county.  Topping the list is Bristol Boro, Bristol Township (split evenly between Levittown and Croydon) and Bensalem.  After that it is Middletown township.  A full 63% of the homes up for Sheriff Sale, are in our neighborhood.  The likelihood that you know someone facing foreclosure is great. Even without that information, if you see a house whose owner is having a hard time keeping the lawn mowed, or the property is in a state of disrepair--perhaps you might just reach out a bit and see what you can do to help.

Coming up on Februrary 21, we will have Jon Adelstein, a Bankruptcy Attorney who will share more about the new bankruptcy laws and then help us with the myths and misconceptions about filing Bankruptcy.
